I’ll be honest — I’m not sure we would travel without all the amazing deals on travel gadgets we find in our neighborhood and online. Ok, we can travel without them but it would be a lot more stressful!
Here is the list of our latest travel gear. We don’t carry this for all trips, we take what is needed for the trip.
Keep Calm & Stay Organized
One of my travel secrets is to remain organized when traveling with kids. It’s already a frenzy so finding what you need easily is so important for me to remain sane. I attached this stroller organizer to the airplane tray and it gives me lots of extra room.
I love the netted catch-all pocket so that I can toss stuff in but still be organized. The actual dual pocket has lot of space and zippers for storage and safety. Also — I can use it as we are on our trip and not have to worry about carrying a diaper bag!
This TRAYblecloth Airplane Tray Activity Cover is amazing! It’s easy to pack and has many pockets to keep things organized. It fits over the tray. Best of all it has a clear pocket which you can use dryerase markers on.
One Insulated Bottle for many years
The (CLICK >>) Pura Kiki 9 oz Stainless Steel Insulated Bottle kept my son’s drink super cold while out on a 100 degree day at the amusement park. Best of all you can interchange the straw for a sippy cup spout or no spout. Perfect as the kids grow. One bottle, many options
Wet Strollers?! Gross!
CLICK >> J.L. Childress Gate Check Bag
Don’t think for a second that airlines care how much you paid or how much your child needs a stroller while navigating the airport. We are so happy that we bought this J.L. Childress Gate Check Bag because on our last trip we gate checked our stroller. For some crazy reason it was returned to us SOAKING WET. Thankfully we had it covered and it took most of the wetness but if we didn’t have it covered our stroller would have our child super wet.
Go To Sleep My Child!
The overnight flight to Spain required maximum comfort for our children. The Kids Travel Pillow and Travel Blanket set – ‘Tux’ Armrest Buddy was perfect for our daughter. It has a hook you can attached to any suitcase and wraps snuggly around the arm rest … or it can be used as a regular pillow.
Non-refrigerated Milk?! Yep!
TSA allows you to bring milk or food for the baby even if it is more than 3 oz containers. Just be prepared to be stopped and checked. We love this organic milk because it comes in 6.75 oz individually containers. You can pack them in your bag and they do not have to be refrigerated which is perfect for long haul flights. The way they are sealed and packaged allows for this. They only have to be refrigerated after you open them.
Pump on the Go – High Tech
I can not rave about this little pump enough! You see that little circle thing — that’s the pump. I took a chance on this random find off Amazon and I could not be happier.
- The pump is USB powered so you can plug it into a power bank to power it (or plug it into the wall)
- It comes with everything you need to get started: pump, bottles, falange, tubes, bottle nipple and cap
- Pump one boob or both boobs
- I swear it pumps better than the Madela
- It’s also QUIET compared to the larger pumps
- It packs up nice and small for travel purposes
I breastfed both of my kids for 12 months (and pumped at work twice a day for 6-8 months)… so yes I highly recommend this for travel.
No Shade, but Shade
Look. Listen — I was the envy at Hershey Park strolling through in my own personal shade. This umbrella is super adjustable and bendy. Just get you one or two.
See us rollin… y’all hatin’!
I have puchased these but I haven’t actually used it yet. On our last flight we had a connecting flight on the other side of the airport. Our 3 yr old was not fast enough or too tired to get through it. I’m thinking this will help. We’ll see during our August trip!
Pee Pee — Fasten Seat belts, queue anxiety!
CLICK >> Green Potette Plus Port-a-potty
Don’t let potty training or a new potty-goer deter you from traveling. Just get the Pottete. This has saved us quite a few times when our daughter announced she has to pee … while the plane is landing (or taking off! — or when the line is super long). We just reach for it under our seat (it packs small on her busy travel bag) and bam! Pee baby pee! No worries!
Seems like a silly thing to travel with but it’s super compact and easy to inflate. Imagine your kid is curled up in a ball in their seat. Well, this inflatable pillow fits snug between the seat and the seat in front and gives your kid extra room to lay and spread out.
